Hannah Ashmore is a Licensed Master Social Worker and Counselor providing therapy to children, teens, young adults, and families. Hannah attended The University of South Carolina for her undergraduate degree and received her Master’s in Social Work from Georgia State University.

Hannah provides support for children, adolescents and families through the complexities of trauma, depression and anxiety. Throughout her graduate program, Hannah discovered her passion for helping clients foster healthy relationships with themselves as well as within the family system.

In individual therapy, Hannah creates a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can identify the origin of their beliefs and thought patterns that influence behaviors. Using a strengths-based approach, Hannah works empathetically alongside clients to find coping skills and build resilience.

Equally passionate about family work, Hannah specializes in attachment-based family therapy, where she guides families to identify and repair attachment ruptures and deepen the emotional connections between children and their caregivers. She believes that families of all backgrounds and life experiences have the ability to improve communication, fostering healthier, more supportive relationships.

Hannah is fully trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a therapeutic technique that uses bilateral stimulation of the brain to reprocess traumatic memories. Her goal for clients going through EMDR is to alleviate distress associated with trauma and maladaptive cognitions and therefore have the confidence to move through their lives without feeling defined by their trauma.

With a warm and empathetic approach, Hannah is dedicated to guiding clients and families through their healing journeys, empowering them to better understand themselves and the environments around them. Whether working with clients individually or with families together, the goal is always to create a comfortable, judgment-free environment where everyone can feel understood and find hope.

Her approach is integrative, drawing from evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), play therapy, family systems theory, and mindfulness techniques to meet each client’s unique needs.
