What is Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based treatment designed to help individuals manage intense emotions, reduce self-destructive behaviors, and improve relationships. Originally developed to treat borderline personality disorder, DBT has since been proven effective for a range of mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, PTSD, personality disorders, self harm, and emotion dysregulation.
At our practice, we offer DBT therapy for individuals seeking structured, skills-based support to create meaningful and lasting change. DBT combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness practices to help you:
-
Regulate overwhelming emotions
-
Cope with distress in healthy ways
-
Communicate more effectively in relationships
-
Build a life worth living
Our licensed therapists provide compassionate, personalized DBT treatment in both individual and group settings. Whether you’re struggling with emotional dysregulation, impulsivity, or feeling stuck in painful patterns, DBT offers practical tools to help you move forward.
What is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)?
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one of the most effective, research-backed approaches to treating a wide range of mental health concerns. CBT helps individuals identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. It is widely used to treat anxiety, depression, stress, OCD, PTSD, phobias, and more.
At our practice, we offer CBT therapy that is practical, goal-oriented, and tailored to your unique needs. Our trained therapists work collaboratively with you to:
-
Understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors
-
Challenge and reframe negative or distorted thinking
-
Develop healthier coping strategies and problem-solving skills
-
Build confidence and resilience in everyday life
CBT is a structured, time-limited therapy that focuses on what’s happening in your life right now, while also helping you build long-term tools for managing future challenges. Whether you’re looking to reduce anxiety, overcome depression, or break free from self-defeating habits, CBT offers a clear, empowering path forward.
What is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful, evidence-based therapy designed to help individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences and distressing memories. EMDR is widely used to treat PTSD, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, phobias, and other emotional challenges rooted in past experiences.
Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR uses bilateral stimulation—such as guided eye movements or tapping—to help the brain reprocess stuck memories and reduce their emotional charge. This allows individuals to move forward without being overwhelmed by the past.
At our practice, we offer EMDR therapy in a safe, supportive environment with trained and compassionate clinicians. EMDR can help you:
-
Process and resolve trauma, both big and small
-
Reduce emotional reactivity to painful memories
-
Break free from patterns of fear, shame, or avoidance
-
Strengthen resilience and self-compassion
-
Reclaim a sense of safety, clarity, and control
Many clients experience significant relief from symptoms in fewer sessions than with traditional therapy. EMDR is recognized by organizations such as the American Psychological Association and the World Health Organization as a highly effective trauma treatment.
What is Executive Function Coaching?
Executive Function Coaching helps individuals strengthen the mental skills needed to manage time, stay organized, complete tasks, and achieve personal or academic goals. These skills—known as executive functions—are essential for everyday success, yet many people struggle with them due to ADHD, anxiety, learning differences, or simply the demands of modern life.
At our practice, we provide executive function coaching for students, professionals, and adults who want to improve their productivity, motivation, and self-management. Our coaches work collaboratively to help you:
-
Build systems for time management and task completion
-
Improve organization and reduce clutter (mental and physical)
-
Strengthen planning, prioritization, and decision-making skills
-
Manage procrastination, distractions, and overwhelm
-
Increase accountability and confidence in your abilities
Executive Function Coaching is not therapy—it’s a practical, skills-based approach that helps you take control of your routines and reach your goals. Whether you’re a high school student juggling assignments, a college student struggling with deadlines, or a busy professional feeling scattered, we offer compassionate, results-driven support.
What is Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT)?
Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT) is a structured, evidence-based approach designed to repair and strengthen parent-child relationships. Rooted in attachment theory, ABFT helps families navigate conflict, improve communication, and build secure emotional bonds—especially in situations where a child or teen is struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, or suicidal thoughts.
At our practice, we offer ABFT to support families in crisis or disconnection. This specialized therapy focuses on healing relational wounds and restoring trust, making it especially effective for adolescents who feel misunderstood, emotionally distant, or disconnected from their caregivers.
ABFT can help your family:
-
Rebuild emotional safety and connection between parents and children
-
Address past hurts, miscommunications, and emotional ruptures
-
Strengthen parental support for a struggling teen
-
Improve family communication and problem-solving skills
-
Reduce symptoms of depression, anxiety, and self-harm
Unlike traditional family therapy that may focus primarily on behavior or conflict resolution, ABFT works at the root of emotional disconnection.
Video and phone sessions
Online counseling either through phone or video allows you to have therapy without the everyday hassle of trying to fit it in. After an in-person assessment, phone and video sessions may be a good option to reduce the logistical challenges of therapy.
